Different from many other maid services
Many cleaning companies hire independent contractors, not employees, to avoid paying worker’s compensation/liability/unemployment insurance, overtime, vacation pay, and other costs, to maximize their profits. They also turn a blind eye and don’t force these contractors to purchase their own insurance because many contractors aren’t willing to purchase costly insurance. As a result you might hire a cleaning company without the proper insurance in case of theft, damage, fire, etc. Where is the peace of mind? IL law states that cleaning/janitorial businesses must classify their workers as employees but many businesses do not to avoid paying for added expenses described above.
